As 2019 is coming to an end it’s becoming more apparent than ever that radical changes are needed asap in order for us to mitigate climate change and reach the SDG targets set for 2030. Although we are alarmed by how slowly world leaders react and how much remains to be done, we feel very inspired and hopeful for the future. This year we have met many companies, designers, business developers, researchers, and students eager to learn how to design for sustainability and circularity. Eager to make a difference. Eager to contribute to the changes required.
To support them to develop products and services for circular consumption we have spent 2019 developing a new design toolkit which will be released shortly. We have also published three new research papers on the topic of design for circularity to challenge the research community and policy makers to start discussing and addressing issues of consumption in addition to production-related challenges. In 2020 we hope to continue our research and support more players to advance their thinking by applying our unique tools and methods. We invite you all to join us in our quest to explore how we can enable more people to live a sustainable and circular everyday life.
We look forward to an exciting 2020 and to accelerate the transition to a sustainable and circular economy together with you! Until then, we wish you all the best for the holiday season.
